PARTS INCLUDED IN THE BASIC KIT.
If you purchase a yurt from us, the parts below are the basic kit. This corresponds to an original yurt in Mongolia.
1. WINDOW CANVAS WITH CORDS
This semi-waterproof canvas can be pulled over the window using two cords. Its function is to protect the window during, for example, cold nights.

2. ROOF RING (MONGOLIAN: TONOO)
This is a ring made of different layers of wood and serves as a connecting piece where the roof poles come together. However, it also functions as a window (usually the only window in Mongolia) and is also the place where the stove chimney pipe goes outside. When it rains or during gray weather, the outermost canvas is closed, and an additional window can be welcomed. Since 2013, we have provided a window in the door, and since 2015, internal doors with four windows. The tonoo itself is delivered open (as in Mongolia). This means that there is a canvas provided that can be pulled over it (see point 1 above "Window Canvas"), but it is not closed with glass/polycarbonate. The reason for this is that most people here find their own solution and can keep the price down. This allows customers to choose how they prefer it within their budget. If you want us to provide this for you, it is certainly possible! We also offer a hard transparent UV-resistant covering (optimal for rain and similar) for an additional cost.

3. SUPPORT BEAMS (2 PIECES, 4 FOR VERY LARGE YURTS)
The support beams (wood) are attached at the bottom of the Tonoo and serve as a central support to hold up the roof. In Mongolia, they also have a more spiritual meaning, indicating the center of the ger (home) where the stove is located and people gather around.

4. ROOF POLES (APPROXIMATELY 90 PIECES IN A 5-WALL YURT)
The roof poles are inserted into the holes at the top of the Tonoo and secured at the top of the walls.

5. OUTER CANVAS WITH CORDS
The outer canvas is a white, sturdy, impregnated cotton canvas and is moderately waterproof/breathable. It comes in various colors with or without patterns. Its function is to protect the yurt from rain.
Due to the climate in Mongolia, the sturdy cotton canvas (moderately waterproof) is used as the sole protection against rain. However, this is not enough for people in our countries who want to leave their yurts outside for more than just the summer. That's why we offer an additional membrane for optimal protection.
This is optional but strongly recommended because it is very strong, waterproof, breathable, and UV-resistant. Suitable for the European climate. There is an additional cost for this option.

6. WOOL INSULATION
The insulation is felt made from 100% sheep's wool. It is used to insulate the yurt against cold and heat - specifications: thickness approximately 15 mm, weight 2 kg/m2. We provide both single-layer and double-layer insulation. For permanent residence or year-round use, we recommend double insulation. For a relatively small additional cost, you will have years of increased comfort (a yurt heats up quickly but also cools down quickly) and save on heating.

7. ADDITIONAL
Since the Belgian climate experiences a lot of rainfall unlike Mongolia, we also offer an additional dome covering and a waterproof membrane.

8. REMARKS ABOUT THE USED MATERIALS:
The wood is sourced only from certified forests under management. It is not obtained through deforestation. We use only 100% wool. If desired, it is also possible to replace it with other ecological materials such as hemp or wool from Europe. We can also make the inner canvas from certified organic cotton. You can also approach us if you want organic fabrics for the interior of your yurt (sheets, dividing curtains, cushions, etc.). We can provide these products as well.
